QLD: Blood pressure monitors stolen

BRISBANE, Aug 24 AAP - Five blood pressure monitoring units stolen from a car in Brisbane
overnight would be of little use to anyone without medical training, police said today.

The SpaceLab monitors, each about the size of a mobile phone, were in a steel brief
case stolen from a car parked in Gladstone Street, Highgate Hill.

"The units are quite expensive in themselves but are of little use to anyone without
a medical background," a police spokeswoman said.

Police were concerned the items may be discarded when the person who had them found
they were of no use to them.

"They may just throw them into someone's front yard. We would like anyone with information
to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," the spokeswoman said.
