WA: Howard predicts Liberal comeback in next state election
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says he believes the Liberal Party is in a good positionto win the next state election in Western Australia.
Mr HOWARD says he's confident the party can turn around its performance in the stateafter being battered at the polls in February 2001.
He's told radio 6PR the next election, due in 2005, will be a different story.
Mr HOWARD's due in Perth for the state Liberals conference.
Liberal Premier RICHARD COURT was beaten by GEOFF GALLOP and Labor two years ago, whensupport for One Nation was blamed for taking votes away from the Liberals.
